The Fornax engine is an integrated, distributed, processing environment constructed around a database processor.  Fornax provides data and stored program fragments accesses, security and encryption, whilst the processing environment provides dynamic program construction and execution.

Program fragments may reside on the local database as well as remote databases.

The Fornax Programmer utility makes program construction interactive, dynamic and seamless.  There is no language, to learn.

Processing is distributed and can be fully parallel.

Programs and data share a common encoding base, which spans all hardware, including micro-processing systems and GPUs etc as well as all future hardware.  Thus,
Fornax provides a new platform for program and database development, storage, distribution (deployment), and execution – fully protected.

Fornax implements a Universal Computer (UC), using the same encoding scheme for data as well as instructions.   The Fornax UC is ported to a specific environment, such as the Operating System and computer configuration (PC, phone, server) as required.

Fornax’s footprint is 270KB (.NET) and 5MB as a standalone OS/ODBMS, which allows it to be used in a range of computers, from embedded systems, e.g. clustered intelligent sensors, to “Cloud” configurations (e.g Azure or AWS).

In Fornax a program fragment is constructed once for all ports, delivering tremendous saving in development costs and time.

Fornax Objects may be completely encrypted, or some of its “Atoms” (parts) may be encrypted.

Access Control is formidable and may be affected across a complete database or selected Objects within a database, and even Atoms within an Object.  Access Control is defined using a Utility called the 'Fornax Access Manager
'.

The Polymach Open-API is available for use in normal applications written in languages such as C, C++, C# etc.
